Handmade Leather Wallet with Hand Embroidery - Plumpy

Handcrafted of sheep leather, this wallet is detailed with two different styles of hand embroidery. On one side there is a panel of warm-coloured traditional embroidery typical of the Bedouins of the Sinai peninsula in Egypt. The other side features colourful contemporary embroidery from Cairo depicting Egyptian scenes.

This functional wallet offers a well-organized interior with nine card slots, two wide bill compartments and two zip pockets. The zip coin purse is decorated with a hand rolled tassel accented with beads.

The Artisans

These pieces are embroidered by talented Egyptian women from areas like Siwa, Sinai and the Nile Valley, where there’s a rich history of handicrafts and traditional embroidery. In attempting to revive these traditions and preserve them from dying, a local designer started using sections of fabric embroidered by these women in their local communities to create unique, modern pieces, injected with elements of Egyptian heritage. This collection blends authentic Egyptian crafts with current trends, creating shawls, scarves, bags and wallets designed to highlight these pieces of handmade traditional embroidery.
